SAY Magazine is a multimedia organization dedicated to showcasing the
various talents among South Asian-American women and non-binary
communities. We hope to end misrepresentation of the South Asian
community and highlight the voices of the underrepresented through
articles, interviews, artwork, and other media forms.
Meet our Founder, Alyshba Ahmed.
Alyshba grew up loving her Bengali culture- the clothes, traditions, and
of course, the food. However, as she grew older, she learned that not
everyone felt the same way. Stereotypes and microaggressions seemed to
be in every public setting, tainting people of color, particularly
women, as the scapegoats of society. In founding SAY Magazine, Alyshba
hopes to change the negative portrayals of people in the South Asian
community by showcasing the beauty of South Asia. Alyshba attends high
school in New York City and hopes to pursue computer science in the
future.
All Inclusive.
SAY Magazine welcomes writers of all races, religions, ethnicities, and
sexual orientations. South Asian or not, each member is valued for their
unique perspective and creative approach.
